Southampton Show 2006

As of April 1st 2009, Mayfield Nurseries became a social enterprise. The company needs to generate revenue for sustainability, but has equally important social aims to improve the opportunities to people experiencing mental health issues.

We are now preparing for spring 2010 and are growing in excess of 50,000 plants for the season. New lines this year will include tropical and exotics and trees. We will also be expanding our fruit and vegetable plant selection and create Fuchsia Boulevard with 20 varieties of bush fuchsia to peruse. In addition, we are increasing our range of garden sundries on offer and including professional growers compost in this year's range.

Behind the scenes, members are working towards levels one two and three training in horticulture and retail and we are working with the local community on projects to introduce both young and old to the benefits of gardening.
